How your garden can win buyers…

How your garden can win buyers…

Summer is here, it’s a shame the weather hasn’t got the memo!  Regardless, during the summer months it’s the best time to tackle one of the areas of the home that has the potential to add significant value to your property and yet can often be neglected.  Your garden has huge potential to win over buyers and get you the sale.

A garden should be a haven; a little sanctuary away from the chaos of daily life.  Your garden should be treated as another room in your home, rather than just an added extra, and thus given the same love, care and attention. Getting your garden buyer-ready doesn’t have to cost a fortune. You don’t need expensive landscaping, but you do need to ensure you create an enviable space, one that they don’t want to leave.

Spruce appeal

The seasons can play havoc with how our gardens look, from fallen leaves and blossoms, to tired fencing and mucky patios. Your garden needs a big spring clean and tidy; no area should be ignored – that includes sorting out your cluttered shed.  Tired fencing should be brought back to life with a fresh coat of paint or stain, and your patio will look like new after a power wash.  And don’t forget those flower beds, they need a tender touch too!

Patchy denial

Have you been honest about the condition of your lawn?  Patchy lawns are not very attractive, so spend a bit of time trying to bring it back to life. A lovely looking lawn can completely transform how your garden looks and feels, so it’s well worth the effort.

Planting that charms

All plants have their seasons, and when you’re selling your home you want your garden in full bloom. This may require you to do some extra planting so the colours not only charm your buyers but bring your garden to life. It doesn’t matter the size of your garden, potted plants can make all the difference when placed well.  If you’re not naturally green-fingered, choose plants that don’t need constant maintenance – ask your local garden center for advice.

Gorgeous oasis

When it comes to preparing your garden for sale, it is the fine detailing that can make all the difference.  Just as your interior has been giving some warming touches, so should your exterior. Think about creating zones – a place to eat, a space to relax, an area for the children.  On your garden table, add some details such as a couple of glasses and a bottle in an ice bucket.  If you have a lounger, a carefully placed blanket with a book can make all the difference.

Every garden has the potential to win over buyers, with some careful thought and a little bit of work, your garden will soon be showing each and every buyer why they should make it their home.

Not all homeowners know how to maximize the potential of their property. At Knightsbridge Estates we believe every garden has the potential to win over buyers. With some careful thought and a little bit of work, your garden will soon be showing each and every buyer why they should make it their home.
